Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Rooted Mosaic Therapy ("I," "me," "my practice") collects, uses, and protects information from visitors to rootedmosaictherapy.com (the "Site"). Please note that this policy covers the website only, and does not cover the confidential health information of current therapy clients, which is separately protected under HIPAA, as described in my Notice of Privacy Practices, and provided directly to clients upon starting care.
By using, or otherwise interacting with, this Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information I Collect
Information you provide directly to the Site, when you fill out the contact form, including:
Name, email, phone number
Pronouns
State of residence
What you are seeking support for (selected from a checklist)
Scheduling preferences
Any additional information you choose to share in the open-text fields
How you heard about the practice
Information collected automatically through Google Analytics and standard cookies (see “Cookies” defined below) when you browse the Site:
IP address, browser type, device type
Pages visited and time spent on the Site
Referring website (e.g., Google, Instagram, therapy directory)
If you sign up for the newsletter, I collect your email address through Squarespace’s email campaign.

To respond to your inquiry and determine fit for services
To schedule consultations and sessions
To send the newsletter, if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe anytime)
To understand how people use the Site, so I can improve it

A Note on Sensitive Information
The contact form asks about the kinds of concerns you're hoping to work on (e.g., anxiety, burnout, family relationships). While this helps me understand if I'm a good fit before we talk, please don't include highly sensitive details, crisis information, or anything you wouldn't want transmitted over standard (non-encrypted) web form. This form is not a secure clinical record and should not be used for anything highly sensitive and/or urgent.
If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. I cannot provide emergency support through this website.

How I Share Information
I do not sell your information. I share it only:
With service providers who help operate the practice (e.g., SimplePractice, Google Workspace, and Squarespace); and
As required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order
Data Retention
I retain the information collected through this Site only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Generally, I will retain your information until your inquiry is resolved or you ask me to remove your information, unless I'm required to keep it longer for legal or accounting purposes.
Data Security
I take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through this Site, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. I can't guarantee absolute security of information you submit online. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, I will notify you within a reasonable time frame.
Cookies
This Site uses cookies to support basic functionality and to understand how visitors use the Site. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not function as intended if you do.
