It’s normal to feel unsure when starting therapy. Many people come in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply wanting clarity. If you’re wondering whether therapy could help, that’s often a good sign you’re ready to explore it. I work primarily with adults navigating self-esteem challenges, anxiety, relationship concerns, and the impact of trauma including family of origin difficulties and emotional neglect. I also have a special focus on supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

IFS therapy, or Internal Family Systems, is a non-pathologizing modality of psychotherapy that holds the belief that human beings contain multiple inner parts. These parts may have taken on extreme roles that cause friction between the inner and outer worlds. IFS therapy hopes to re-establish harmony between these worlds by accessing your wise, compassionate Self.

Yes! I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) for Illinois-based clients. Colorado-based clients are currently private pay only.

If your insurance isn’t listed, you may still be able to get reimbursed for sessions if you have out-of-network benefits. I have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use the tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.
If you’d rather do it yourself, I’m also happy to provide a superbill that you can send directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
For many folks, using out-of-network benefits leads to 70-80% reimbursement and makes finding the right therapist affordable and easier.

Yes. At this time, I am only offering virtual sessions in Colorado. I offer in-person sessions for those in the Chicagoland area and telehealth sessions for all of Illinois. You must be located in the state of Illinois or Colorado for sessions.

The first session is a chance for us to see how it feels to work together. I often describe it as “painting with broad strokes.” I’ll ask questions about your life to get a sense of the bigger picture, what brings you to therapy, and what you’re hoping for. You’ll also have space to ask me questions and share what feels most important to you.
Sessions last around 55 minutes. I don’t expect to know everything about you after the first session. We’ll continue to get to know one another and build the relationship at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call to help us get to know each other. During this call, we’ll talk about your goals for therapy, any previous experiences you’d like me to know about, and any questions you may have. We’ll also review logistics, since I know those details can sometimes feel like a barrier to getting started. At the end of the call, I’ll confirm scheduling availability and we can decide on next steps together.
