She’s Got Everything

On paper, you’ve done it all. Every box has been checked that was supposed to be checked. You’re the epitome of the girl who’s got it all handled. You have the degree, the career, the full social calendar, the exercise routine on lock… and yet, something still feels missing, like it’s not enough.

Letting the vulnerability show probably sounds terrifying. Everyone assumes you’re “fine” because from the outside looking in, you are.

Keeping everyone at a manageable distance serves you well. People don’t get to see that deep down things might be difficult and that means you get to keep up the facade a little longer. You also get to still be useful to others and that’s everything to the parts of you that learned early on that usefulness and productivity matter.

You might feel stuck in this loop of looking for the next thing to try to solve this “problem” of you not feeling fulfilled. Because that’s all you’ve known. You’re typically good at everything you try and it feels good to get a gold star, literally or metaphorically. But once that happens, it’s onto the next because that good feeling doesn’t last.

“Our successes and failures come and go – they neither define us nor do they determine our worthiness.”

- Kristin Neff from
“Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself”

You are not a problem to solve. The parts of you that strive for more, maybe even perfection, are not to blame. They know that when you reach new heights with your accomplishments, it quiets that part of you that doesn’t feel like enough. You feel reassured that you are worthy because of what you produce.

When we attach our self-worth to things we do, like our jobs or what we give in our relationships, it traps us in a cycle of always needing to be churning out in order to feel deserving and worthy.

How We’ll Address This

Internal Family Systems

Using IFS and parts work to identify and connect with those parts of you that push you to achieve more and protect you from the shame and hurt underneath it all.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Looking at the patterns in your family of origin dynamics can inform a lot of where you learned to attach your self-worth to your output.

Person-Centered and Relational

For you to be fully seen and heard, all aspects of who you are as human being, is of the utmost importance to me as a therapist. Here, you get to be you without expectations.

"It's the possibility of infinite rebirth, infinite redemption."

- Gabrielle Zevin from
Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

You don’t have to dismantle the life that you worked so hard for
to feel worthy of living it.

Together, we'll get to know what's underneath that high-performance mentality.
From there, we can shift toward a more compassionate view of yourself.
